Fiber Referral Codes FAQ

Sonic Fiber in Los Angeles

Sonic announced its first expansion outside the Bay Area in May 2026, building 10 Gbps fiber in the Los Angeles area. Here's what Sonic has said about price, rollout and pre-ordering, and how to see whether your address is covered.

Rollout is ongoing and changes often. Your address decides what you can order.

What Sonic announced

On May 7, 2026, Sonic announced it was extending its fiber network into the Los Angeles and Dallas areas, its first expansion outside the Bay Area. Sonic said construction was well underway, that addresses were being activated daily, and that it would keep activating more households through the end of 2026.

A May 2026 Press Democrat report said Sonic already employed more than 80 people in the two new markets across construction, customer service, sales and field operations.

Price

Sonic says pricing in Los Angeles starts at $40 a month for speeds up to 10 Gbps. Sonic's plans generally include free installation and no data caps. That starting price is below the $49.99 intro and $59.99 later pricing Sonic lists in the Bay Area. Your exact price depends on your address and the offers at signup.

Availability: address by address

Sonic is building out the network in stages. At the time of writing, no list of covered Los Angeles neighborhoods appeared on Sonic's site, so the only reliable check is entering your street address on Sonic's availability tool, which is what the button on this page opens.

If it isn't live at your address: pre-order

Sonic offers pre-orders in areas it is still building. According to Sonic, a pre-order locks in the current deal, includes construction updates, gives you priority when installs start, and costs nothing until installation is complete.

Equipment note

Reaching the full 10 Gbps needs equipment with 10 Gbps ports, connected by Ethernet. Sonic's free installation covers bringing fiber into your home and setting up its optical network terminal. You can use your own router or rent eero equipment from Sonic.

What do I get for signing up through your link?

Sonic's referral page advertises the first month free for new customers who sign up through a referral link, and its rules say referred customers get the current new-customer promotions and pricing at the time they sign up.
